Rafa: My Story by Rafael Nadal with John Carlin — review

His childhood and adolescent days, his passion for the sport, and his mindset as a player are those manifested in the book. Nadal talks about the limited opportunities that a professional athlete has in the short span of his career.

He shares his disappointment at losing the and Wimbledon games and how he trained himself for his victory. It also talks about how Nadal completed his Career Grand Slam.

Nadal was born in the year He was introduced to the game of tennis at the age of three. His family declined a suggestion for them to move to Barcelona when Rafaeal turned 14 for better training.

He beat the tennis legend Roger Federer at the age of 17, during their first clash. He won the French Open four times in a row, and became the only player to have won the tournament during his very first appearance. Titled The King of Clay for his success in clay courts, he won 32 matches in a streak in the year All Women's Shoes.

I n , when he was 19, Rafael Nadal won the French Open — his first grand slam title. Open final last year, Nadal implied his box had told him where to serve on match point, telling El Pais, "They told me to serve wide and that's where I served. In his parts, Rafa tells his story in his way, beautifully describing the Wimbledon Final and the parts of his life dear to him, and John Carlin, in his parts, describes Nadal's life from a third person point of view, having spent a lot of time with him and the people close to him.

My only complaint would be that Nadal wrote a memoir way too early in his life and career. Buuuuuuuuuuut they went ahead and published a book about him before his career is even over. There are gaps: Nadal says next to nothing about his long-term girlfriend, Maria Francisco Perello a Carlin interlude on "Rafa's women" doesn't really supply the deficiency , nor does he talk about his ritual tugging of his shorts before he serves a triviality, perhaps, but one it would have been sensible to at least mention.

What we knew: Nadal surprised everyone by recovering from a five-hour marathon semifinal at the Australian Open to beat Federer in five sets in the final.

I do enjoy reading comics lively. Look through my other posts. I am highly influenced by ball hockey.
